An important element of the OIS ethos is its warm and welcoming community and we value the contribution that you, our parents, make to that community.
There are two parent groups:
Each class has a nominated parent who attends regular meetings with the Headteacher and other Senior Members of Staff. These meeting provide an opportunity for the representatives to discuss general questions and concerns on your behalf. These parents are also a key contact for the Headteacher to discuss any changes in school policy and to ensure that the school and parent body are communicating effectively with each other.
Parent Representatives also help welcome new parents into their year groups and are a contact they can talk to – parent to parent.
If you wish to know the name of your Parent Representative, please contact the School Office.
The Friends of OIS meet socially on a regular basis and are an opportunity for parents to get together on an informal basis.
The Friends of OIS help support the school in a variety of projects and activities, aimed at creating a positive and friendly school community.
Supporting school events helps to enrich life at OIS for pupils, staff and parents. We understand that helping on a regular basis is a big commitment, but we would like to encourage all parents to offer their help for just one or two events each year. Volunteering is also a very good way to get to know other parents. If you would like to offer your help at an individual event, please contact us.
Anyone wishing to be involved should get in contact. It’s not all hard work! We have great fun, make lifelong friendships and our work at school events gives us a valuable insight into school life.
Parents are invited to join the school’s closed Facebook group called Cambridge International School’s Parent Group
This is a Facebook Group run by parents for parents and is a forum for parents to arrange to meet, ask questions about school life, or simply get a recommendation for a good restaurant.
